Rize, Southeast Asia’s leading sustainable rice platform, closed a $31M Series B last week — $20M equity, $11M debt. The equity side was led by BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts with The Rockefeller Foundation joining, while Vietnam’s own BIDV came in on the debt side alongside UOB and Temasek Foundation. Rize works with 17,000 smallholder farmers across 50,000+ hectares in Vietnam and Indonesia, pushing toward 300,000 hectares and 150,000 farmers by 2030.

Our take: A Vietnamese bank funding climate-tech infrastructure at this scale is exactly the kind of “beyond Vietnam, for Southeast Asia" growth story we want to be around more of.

Next step: We’ll be at Vietnam Startup Community Day (21 Aug, PTIT, Ha Dong, Hanoi) — one of the year’s largest startup gatherings, 1,000+ founders, investors, and builders expected. If you’re building anything agri-tech, climate, or RWA-adjacent in Vietnam, that’s the room.
